WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University bowlers were back in action on the lanes this past weekend as they competed in the MidStates Championships in Wichita, Kansas on Saturday and Sunday. The Warriors saw both teams qualify for bracket play but failed to advance past the first round, finishing in a tie for 5th on the men’s and women’s side.
Prior to the bracket play the men knocked down 9,549 pins to qualify in sixth place. The women had a pin fall total of 8,917 to qualify in seventh place.
In bracket play the men fell to Lindenwood and the women dropped their matchup with Mount Mercy. Hastings’ men and Newman’s women would go on to win the bracketed play.
Brittney Schnicke had a solid day one, leading all women bowlers with total of 1,275. Kristopher Yadao was the highest male bowler for Midland finishing with 1,263 pins, good for eighth place.
The Warriors will be at it again this coming weekend when they travel to St. Charles, Missouri for the Lindenwood Lion’s Classic. Competition is set for Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.
