Swim: Boys Take Win on Senior Night

FREMONT – It was Senior Night at the Dillon Family Aquatic Center as Fremont took on Lincoln Northeast, and the boys team picked up the win.

Mack Prince had a pair of wins for the tigers with a huge 50 free breaking 24 for the first time this season.  He also swam a season best time in his 100 backstroke moving him up on the state depth charts. Nathaniel McClellan had a pair of wins lowering state secondary cuts in the 200 IM and 100 fly. Connor Christ lowered his state secondary cut in the 100 breast.

Subway swimmer of the meet goes to AJ Jacobus after swimming the race of his life in his 500 free.  AJ dropped 5 seconds from his previous lifetime best to get a win and break the 5:10 mark for the first time.  He also finished 2nd in the 50 free with a season best open swim.

  • John Monson also had lifetime bests in his 200 free and 100 free.
  • Josh Iossi swam an amazing 500 for the first time ever, and also broke the 1 minute mark in the 100 free of the 4×100 free relay.
  • Evan Lockwood also had a great drop in his 100 backstroke.
  • Zach Johnson swam the 200 IM for the first time followed by a strong 100 fly right at his lifetime best.

On the girls side, Subway Swimmer of the Meet went to Kelseigh Olson for a huge PR in her 200 IM as well as a 100 back PR.  Kelseigh has really worked hard to learn all 4 strokes and we are seeing her versitality.

  • Emma Walz had a pair of wins for the tigers in the 100 fly and 100 back, swimming just off her season bests times.
  • Addie Schiemann had a great meet on her individual swims in the 200 free and 100 free as well as season best splits on the medley relay and 200 free relay.
  • Ellie Schiemann dropped another 11 seconds in her 500 free just 5 seconds from her lifetime best.  Ellie has been training hard for this event so we are excited to see what she can do.
  • Leticia Inurreta had a huge time drop in her 100 free which she has been working very hard on this season.

Overall great swims from everyone and a fun final home dual.  “It was great to celebrate our six seniors as well as get a win for the boys and great racing from the girls,” said Coach Ali Granger.
