State Wrestling: Standings and Schedule After Day 1

The 2019 State High School Individual Wrestling Championships began yesterday at CHI Health Center, Omaha.

After day one, in Class A, Columbus is in first with 77 points.  Millard South is second with 72.5.

In Class B, Hastings is first with 46 points.  Omaha Skutt Catholic is second with 40.

In Class C, Broken Bow is first with 68 points.  Valentine is second with 53.

In Class D, Archbishop Bergan is first with 52.5 points.  Plainview is second with 52.

1st and 2nd round consolation matches take place today with Semifinals and third round consolations tonight.

Fremont’s Cody Carlson is in the semifinals at 126 in Class A.  Archbishop Bergan has five wrestlers in the semis:  Caden Arps at 113, Zach Hamilton at 120, Jacob Johnson at 145, Ethan Villwok at 182 and Peyton Cone at 195. Arlington will see four wrestlers enter the semifinals: Hunter Gilmore at 120, Josh Miller at 145, Kobe Wilkins at 182 and Remington Gay at 220. From North Bend Central, Zach Borer will go to the semifinals after pinning his opponent in the quarterfinals in less than a minute.
