State Sports Update: Football Continues, Volleyball Begins

In the Class D1 State High School Football Playoff second round last night, Howells-Dodge defeated Lutheran High Northeast, 56-22.  The Jaguars advance to the quarterfinals and will play at Osceola-High Plains, on Tuesday.

Tomorrow night, North Bend Central takes on BRLD. That game will be broadcast with Rich Ray on Big Dog 98.9/1340 and online.

Wahoo will also take on SCOTUS Friday night at 7, with Isaac Paden on The Best Mix 105.5.

Volleyball

The Nebraska State High School Volleyball Tournament begins today in Lincoln.  We’ll have coverage of three area teams.  At 3:30, from Lincoln Southeast, in D1, Archbishop Bergan takes on Overton, on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.  Also at 3:30, from Lincoln Southwest, Bishop Neumann plays Lutheran High Northeast, on Mix 105.5, FM, in Class C2.  In Class C1, at 5:30, from Lincoln North Star, Wahoo plays Norfolk Catholic, on Mix 105.5, FM.  The tournaments run through Saturday.
