State Softball Updates: Today Will Decide the Champs

HASTINGS – Yesterday’s sunshine is long gone and it’s another rainy day in Hastings as the state softball tournament continues to its final game. Just four teams remain in each class.

A rain delay has pushed both Arlington & Wahoo Bishop Neumann games to a 5PM start. Neither game will be broadcast due to prior commitments to other local sports. Arlington held Centennial to a 0 run game yesterday and won the game 1-0, and are unbeaten at State. They move on today to battle the Wayne Blue Devils today at 11:30AM.


Blair fought through their second game of the tournament, but were never quite able to catch Omaha Gross and the final score of 12-6 ended Blair’s trip to state. The Bears finished their season. Congratulations and good work to the team:

Wahoo Bishop Neumann

The Wahoo Bishop Neumann Cavaliers had a mixed day yesterday, falling to the undefeated Wayne Blue Devils in the first game of the day with a final score of 2-1. The Cavaliers fell to the losing bracket, but redeemed themselves in a late game last night against Milford. Neumann held Milford to a 0 run game, winning with a final score of 16-0 in a shortened 4 innings. The Bishop Neumann Cavaliers will face off with Centennial today at 11:30AM, broadcasting on The Best Mix 105.5.
