State Basketball Tournament Begins Despite Snowy Thursday

LINCOLN – Despite the nearly five inches of new snowfall received overnight, the Boys State Basketball Tournament in Lincoln will begin today, with games at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, Devaney Center, and several Lincoln high schools.

Your Fremont radio stations will be covering four teams with local broadcasts: two from Class C1, one in C2 and one in Class D1.

First, we’ll see the Archbishop Bergan Catholic Knights take on Fullerton at Lincoln East tomorrow morning at 10:30AM in the first Class D1 game of the tournament. The Knights are 16-8 on the season, while Fullerton’s Warriors come in at 18-6. This game will be broadcast on Big Dog 98.9 and 1340. (LIVE STREAM HERE)

At the same time, we’ll be broadcasting the Class C1 match up of Wahoo High School versus Boys Town from the Devaney Center on The Best Mix 105.5, with a 10:45 tipoff. The Wahoo Warriors enter the tournament 23-3, with Boys Town’s record a little shakier at 19-7. (LIVE STREAM HERE)

Later on, in Class C2, the Yutan Chieftans play the Sutton Mustangs at Lincoln Northeast. Tip-off is 2PM, with a 1:45PM pregame on Big Dog 98.9 and 1340. Yutan is 21-5 on the season, with Sutton coming in at 24-2. (LIVE STREAM HERE)

Finally, we’ll have the class C1 game between North Bend Central and Adams Central on The Best Mix 105.5. Tip-off is 3:45PM, with the pregame beginning around 3:30PM.
