Omaha Collegiate Sports: CU Soccer, UNO Volleyball

Creighton Soccer

With both squads battling to remain alive in the chase for the BIG EAST Championship, the Creighton women’s soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw with St. John’s on Sunday, Oct. 27th.

Following Sunday’s action the Bluejays moved to 8-6-3 on the season and 2-3-3 in BIG EAST action, while St. John’s closed the day at 5-11-1 overall and 2-5-1 in conference play.

Creighton closes out the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 31 as the Bluejays host Villanova at 7:00 pm (CT).

UNO Volleyball

The Omaha volleyball program won its third-consecutive match in straight sets with a 3-0 sweep over North Dakota State on the road.

The Mavericks defeated the Bison 25-13, 25-10, 25-16 and improve to 13-11 overall and 6-4 in league play. The Bison fall to 10-12 and 5-5 in league action.

Omaha aims to bounce back from an earlier loss this season to Oral Roberts this Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. The Mavericks play host to the Golden Eagles for a Summit League matchup inside Baxter Arena.
