NU Volleyball Selected as Number 7 Seed for NCAA Tournament

The Nebraska volleyball team was selected as the No. 7 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and will host the NCAA Tournament first and second rounds at the Bob Devaney Sports Center this weekend.

The sixth-ranked Huskers, making their 37th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, will open the tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Hofstra Pride, champions of the Colonial Athletic Association. The 4:30 p.m. match will feature the 24th-ranked Missouri Tigers of the SEC and the No. 23 Arizona Wildcats of the Pac-12. Friday’s winners will meet on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in the NCAA second round.

The Nebraska volleyball team also placed three student-athletes on the All-Big Ten First Team and two on the All-Big Ten Freshman Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Mikaela Foecke, Kenzie Maloney and Lauren Stivrins were all selected by the Big Ten coaches and media to the 18-player All-Big Ten First Team. Nicklin Hames and Callie Schwarzenbach were named to the seven-player All-Freshman Team.
