LINCOLN, Neb. – Midland University held the University of Nebraska scoreless on their home ice on Friday and Saturday this past weekend. In the series opener the Warriors outshot the Huskers 87-3 on goal during the dominant 10-0 win. It was more of the same on Saturday with Midland taking the finale 13-0.
The Lady Warriors swept the season series, winning all four games by a combined score of 41-1.
Tieryn Arens, who recently transitioned to a forward position, had a pair of hat tricks. She finished the weekend with seven goals and five assists to lead the team. Isabelle Uhl-Chmiel also had a hat trick in the opener for the Warriors and finished with five goals while assisting on three others.
Leaders in the assists column were Robin Hatcher and Kenzie Bertolas, who both had seven. Savanah Wright was close behind with five. In total, eleven skaters either scored or assisted on a goal.
Midland (16-10-1) will close out their home regular season schedule this upcoming weekend when they host Wisconsin (4-8-0) on Saturday and Sunday at Sidner Ice Arena in Fremont. Puck drop for the opener will be at 4:00 p.m. with senior day festivities before the game. Sunday’s finale will begin at 12:00 p.m.
