Midland U Basketball Regular Season Comes to a Close

The Midland University women and men’s basketball teams wrapped up their regular seasons by hosting Hastings College, last night, at the Wikert Event Center.  The women lost to Hastings, 70-60.  The Broncos were led by Shandra Farmer with 24 points.  Gabby Grasso and Jordan Johnson added 14 each.  Midland got 19 points from Joelle Overkamp, 11 each from Megan Kucks and Maddie Egr and 10 from Amanda Hansen.  Hastings is 23-5 and 14-5 in the GPAC.  The Warriors are 14-16 and 9-11 in the league.  Midland will be the #6 seed in the Conference Tournament that begins next week.

In men’s action, Hastings defeated the Warriors, 90-84.  The Broncos got 26 points from Tyler Hedlund, 20 from Jake Hansen, 17 from Kevin Miller, 13 from Bart Hiscock and 10 from Zach Kitten.  Midland was led by Ryan Williams with 26 points, 25 from Isaiah Workman and 10 from Chase Parsons.  The Broncos are 19-10 and 9-8 in the GPAC.  Midland is 16-14 and 6-12 in the conference.  The Warriors will await their post-season fate after Saturday’s regular season action concludes.
