FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University Football will hold their annual spring game on Saturday, April 21st at Heedum Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and is the final team practice before fall camp at the end of summer. The Warriors are coming off a 6-4 record including a 4-4 mark and fourth-place finish in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
“We are excited about the progress our football team has made this Spring,” head coach Jeff Jamrog stated. “The effort, attention to detail, physicality, and the continual improvement in special teams, defense, and offense has been fun to watch.”
The Warriors have brought in a few familiar names to the sidelines for this upcoming season. They include Eric Crouch (RB’s), Matt Finnin (TE’s), Seth Looschen (FB’s) Ross Dzuris (DL) as well the promotion of Tom Brinkman to defensive coordinator. Crouch, Finnin and Dzuris all played football at the University of Nebraska for the Huskers.
Midland will open their 2018 season on August 25 with a home game against MidAmerica Nazarene. Their home-schedule include another non-conference game with Mayville State and then conference games with Jamestown, Morningside, Dakota Wesleyan and Dordt.
“We are extremely excited about the 2018 season. We hope to build on our season last year and take the next step in our program,” Coach Jamrog commented. “The 2018 schedule is a challenging one and we all know how difficult the GPAC opponent are. We know our fans will enjoy our six home games at Heedum Field.”
