HASTINGS, Neb. – Midland University claimed their sixth consecutive Great Plain Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday. The Warriors earned top honors from the judges with a score of 84.33. Morningside College was the next highest with a score of 75.50.
“Our performance was the best all season,” commented head coach Katie Speicher. “The team was focused and driven from the moment they began their warm up until the second they stepped off the floor. I am so proud of the progress we’ve made as a team this season, and we’ll continue to work to improve our routines difficulty as we get closer to regionals.”
The Warriors will look to build upon their successful performance as they prepare to qualify for the NAIA Competitive Dance Championship next month. Midland will host the NAIA Northwest Qualifier on Friday, February 22 in Fremont.
Before that event, Midland will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa for the Dordt Invitational on Saturday, February 16. Competition begins at 12:00 p.m.
