Senior Evan Weninger has been named the NCHC Goaltender of the Week, taking home the award for the third time this season.
Weninger was in net for both games of the Mavericks’ split at Miami last week, hitting career milestones along the way. On Friday, Weninger made 38 saves in Omaha’s 3-0 win. It was his eighth career shutout, a new school record, and his fourth of the season to put him second in the NCHC. He also topped 3,000 career saves in the win. The native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is now 100 saves from the school record for career stops.
The Mavericks are off until Feb. 22-23 when they host conference-leading St. Cloud State.
