Maverick’s Now 8-8 After Second Conference Victory

The Omaha men’s basketball team earned its second conference victory and its second win of a three-game home stand Wednesday night, defeating North Dakota State 90-77 at Baxter Arena. The Mavericks are now 8-8 (2-1 Summit League), while the Bison drop to 6-10 (1-2).

Matt Pile had a monster night with career highs of 19 points and 12 rebounds, hitting 7-of-11 from the floor. Mitch Hahn led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting with four 3-pointers, four boards and three assists.

All five Maverick starters scored in double figures, with Zach Jackson adding 16 points, KJ Robinson with 14 more and JT Gibson at 11. Gibson also dished out a game-high five assists.

Omaha returns to the road on Thursday, Jan. 10 with a visit to North Dakota at 7 p.m. in Grand Forks, N.D.
