Local Sports Coming Up: Winter Weather Schedule Changes


Tonight, the Fremont High girls basketball team will host Bellevue West in the A-6 District Tournament Semifinals at Al Bahe Gymnasium.  Tip-off is 6:30pm.  The game will be broadcast on Big Dog 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.

The Bergan boys basketball team plays in the D1-3 Sub-District Final, tonight at Aquinas Catholic High School, versus Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family.  Tip-off is 7:00.  The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM.

Due to the threat of another serious winter storm this weekend, post-season basketball tournament dates and times have been changed.  The A-1 Boys Basketball District Semifinal between Fremont High and Bellevue West has been moved from Saturday night, to Friday night at 7:45pm.

The D1-4 Girls Basketball District Final between Archbishop Bergan and Johnson-Brock, also now Friday, has been moved up to a 6pm start.

Midland U

The Midland women and men’s shotgun sports teams compete today in the Spring Grand American, in Tucson, Arizona.

The Warrior baseball team plays Huston-Tillotson University in San Antonio, Texas, at 6:00, tonight.


The No. 11 Nebraska rifle team will compete for a conference title this weekend at the GARC Championships in Akron, Ohio. Match action will begin at 7 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday.

The No. 15 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team travels to Toledo, Ohio to participate in the Elevate the Stage B1G Five meet featuring No. 24 Penn State, Iowa, Maryland and Michigan State on Friday, Feb. 22 with the meet beginning at 6 p.m. CT.

The two sessions will determine the seeding for the Big Ten Championships that will be hosted by Penn State later this March.
