Local Sports Coming Up This Weekend: April 12 – 14

Husker Football Spring Game

Nebraska’s annual Red-White Spring Game will take place on Saturday at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM, with the Husker Sports Network coverage beginning at 11am.

Track & Field

This weekend, the Midland women and men’s track and field teams compete in the Blue Oval Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.


The Warrior Powerlifting team competes in day two of the USAPL National Championships, in Columbus, Ohio.


The Husker women’s bowling continue their quest for another national championship with the semi-final match Friday at 2 p.m.(CT), playing the winner of the Vanderbilt v. McKendree match.

Baseball / Softball

The Archbishop Bergan baseball team plays in the semifinals of the HAC Tournament in Lincoln.  Bergan takes on Lincoln Southeast, at Sherman Field, at 2:00.

Due to forecasted weather this weekend in University Park, Pa., the schedule for this weekend’s three-game baseball series between Nebraska and Penn State has been adjusted. The teams will now play at 12:00 (CT) on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 PM (CT).

Creighton softball resumes BIG EAST play with a series on the road against Villanova.

The Omaha baseball teams aims to continue its Summit League success with a three-game stint in Tulsa, Okla., against defending Summit League Champion Oral Roberts. The Mavericks and Golden Eagles square off with a Friday, April 12, doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.


The Nebraska men’s golf team is set to host the Husker Git-R-Done Invitational on Saturday, April 13 at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb. This marks the first Division I tournament hosted by Nebraska in Lincoln since the 2005-06 season. The six-team tournament will consist of two rounds on Saturday, April 13. The first round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., while round two will get underway at 12:30 p.m. The second round will be continuous play.
