The Fremont High cross country teams ran at the HAC Championships in Kearney, yesterday. In the boys race, Fremont finished second with 71 points. Junior Owen Wagner led the Tigers, placing third in 16:26.77. Carter Waters finished 12th; Aaron Ladd was 17th; Junior Garcia was 19th and Nolan Miller took 20th. Lincoln Southwest won the meet with 33 points. Thomas Oliver of Lincoln East was the meet champion in 15:59.44.
In the girls race, Fremont finished second with 50 points. Fremont Sophomore Elli Dahl finished second in 18:55.79. Mara Hemmer finished seventh; Mia Wagner was tenth; Emily Nau was 15th and Myia Johnson was 16th. Lincoln East won the meet with 33 points. Berlyn Schutz of Lincoln East finished first in 18:33.31.
In Bergan volleyball action Thursday night, Hastings Saint Cecilia defeated Bergan 25-20, 25-19

The centennial conference continues on Saturday at David Aquinas. The Lady Knights play at 10 AM versus Lincoln Lutheran followed by Kearney Catholic at noon. Cross pool matches will be played at the end of the pool play.

The Creighton women’s soccer team fell 1-0 in overtime to Butler during Creighton’s annual Pink Out Game on Thursday night at Morrison Stadium.
The Bulldogs converted the golden goal during the 93rd minute on a rebound attempt following a save.
Creighton hits the road for a match at No. 10 Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. Central.
Senior Abby Meader posted her fifth career goal and goalkeeper Erin Bunker garnered her third shutout of the season as the Mavericks won 1-0 over North Dakota State on Thursday night at Caniglia Field.
The victory moves Omaha to 4-7-1 overall and 1-1 in Summit League play while the Bison drop to 6-5-1 (1-1-0).
The Mavericks take on South Dakota State on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at Caniglia Field.
