Local Scoreboard: High School Golfers Play Despite Rain

The Fremont High boys golf team hosted Columbus and Norfolk in a triangular at the Fremont Golf Club yesterday.  Fremont finished third, shooting a 178.  Norfolk was first at 168 and Columbus was second at 174.  Isaac Heimes of Norfolk and Shane Hess of Columbus tied for medalist honors, shooting a 40.  Fremont was led by Nick Lamme with a 43.

The Blair boys golf team shot a 389 at the Waverly Invite at Crooked Creek Golf Club.  Blake Stirek led the Bears with an 87.

Omaha starting pitcher Heath Fillmyer struck out seven in a quality outing and was supported by relieversTim Hill and Michael Ynoa with two and two-thirds perfect innings, while first baseman Cheslor Cuthbertcollected two hits and scored the go-ahead run in the Storm Chasers’ 2-1 victory over the Round Rock Express on Tuesday evening at Werner Park.
