Lincoln East Outperforms Fremont at Swim Dual

In high school swimming at Lincoln East last night, Lincoln East defeated Fremont is girls action, 151-36 and also in boys action, 135-57.

John Monson won the boys 200 yard freestyle in 1:55.04.  Emma Walz won the girls 200 yard IM in 2:18.92.  A.J. Jacobus won the boys 50 yard freestyle in 24.73.

On the boys side, Subway Swimmer of the Meet went to Zach Johnson for the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke.  “Zach has been working hard to learn the butterfly and has dabbled in the 50 on relays but did amazing in his first 100 fly tonight,” said head coach Ali Granger. “He has gotten stronger and is showing so much potential as we hit the back half of the season.”

On the girls side, Subway Swimmer of the meet went to Lucy Dillon for her performances in the relays, as well as her individual 50 free.  “Lucy is looking strong as we head into the back half of the season,” said Granger, “and we are excited to see what she can do.”

Emma Walz had the lone win on the girls side in the 200 IM tonight.

“A tough dual for the kids,” said the coach, “but everyone had great showings in non specialty events.”

Saturday, the Tigers black team heads to the Gene Cotter Invite.
