Lincoln, Neb. – Midland University’s women’s golf team took first place in Nebraska Wesleyan University Fall Classic over the weekend. The team played 36 holes on Sunday and Monday at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln. The Lady Warriors shot a 668 over the two rounds, 61 shots ahead of the host Prairie Wolves.
Junior Tiffany Scheele won this individual crown with the low score of 158, just four shots ahead of second place Peyton Savington from NWU. Other top finishers for the Lady Warriors were freshman Sophie Hart (3rd, 169), senior Jessica Rehtus (4th, 170), freshman Mateya Peters (5th, 171), and senior Paige Mestl (6th, 176).
Midland will look to build off of a solid weekend of play with another good performance at the Northwestern Invite in Orange City, Iowa this Thursday, September 20. Tee times from Landsmeer Golf Club will begin at noon.
