FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University head women’s soccer coach Greg Jarosik has officially released the Warriors’ 2018 schedule. The full slate includes five non-conference matches against teams in the top 40 of the NAIA’s Modified RPI last year, including matches with Embry-Riddle (No. 17) and Eastern Oregon (No. 30) to begin the season in Arizona.
The GPAC schedule features two new schools who have joined the conference, Jamestown and Presentation. The growth of the conference will be beneficial at the end of the season with the GPAC earning two automatic bids to the NAIA Opening Round. Last year the Warriors were ranked for the first time in program history. They finished third in the conference with a 7-1-2 record and were 14-2-3 overall.
“Coming off a 14-win season and being in the NAIA Top 23 for nine straight weeks, while also returning so many players from last year is exciting,” commented Coach Jarosik. “We have some new faces that will make an immediate impact on our team and we are excited to get everyone into camp. We have some unfinished business in regards to last year and are ready to get thing started.”
“We are going to have a challenging non-conference schedule this year. We will play four teams that qualified for the national tournament starting off with our trip to Arizona. The challenging schedule before GPAC play can only help improve our national standing and the standing of our conference as a whole.”
