BOULDER, Colo. – Midland University women’s hockey team traveled to Colorado this weekend for the Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League (WWCHL) Pre-League Showcase. On Friday the Lady Warriors played a pair of games against in-state schools Colorado State and Colorado. Midland would defeat the CSU Rams in the morning session 12-1 before falling to the CU Buffaloes 4-1 later that night.
In the opener Midland had a pair of players net a hat trick as Mylie Ketterson scored three goals and Isabelle Uhl-Chmiel netted four goals. Tieryn Arens scored twice while Kelsey Beebe, Ally Conybear, and Meredith Grothmann both scored one time.
Isabel Olsen played all 60 minutes in net for the Lady Warriors, stopping 16 of 17 shots for the win.
Against the Buffaloes, the Warriors found it much more difficult to light the lamp. After a period of scoreless play, Colorado scored three goals in the second to take control of the game. They would add another in the third before the Warriors scored their lone goal of the game. An unassisted goal by Arens with 2:01 left in the contest.
