OMAHA, Neb. – With unpleasant weather in the forecast, the decision to shorten the CSM/MU Women’s Golf Spring Invitational was made earlier this week. Judging by the snow that moved in on Friday morning it was a good thing they played just the one round at Miracle Hills in Omaha on Thursday.
In a field of mostly NAIA schools, Briar Cliff University (310) won the event by 30 strokes over the next closest team. Individually they had four of their five golfers in the top eight.
Midland University finished in sixth place as a team with a score of 358.
Jessie Rehtus led the way for the Warriors with an 18-hole score of 85, finishing in a tie for 16th. Teammate Klaire Nuttelman was a stroke behind in 18th place with an 86.
In addition to those two, the Midland team was comprised of Tiffany Scheele (93), Saraha Fixmer (94), and Paige Mestl (100).
Next up for the Warriors is the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite. The two day event will tee off on Saturday, April 14 in Lincoln, Nebraska at Holmes Golf Course.
