Knapton Qualifies for 3rd Straight Championship Dive

Two-time All-American, Husker Swim & Dive team’s Abigail Knapton has qualified for her third consecutive NCAA Championships run with her performance in the three-meter at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.

Knapton posted a final score of 675.55 (335.15 carried over from prelims), earning her a ninth-place finish.

The 2019 NCAA Championships will be held in Austin, Texas, March 20-23.

The Omaha diving program concluded its 2018-19 season at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.

Both Annika Clinton and Madeline Taylor represented the Mavericks in the 1-meter dive, after qualifying for the event in the season-opening meet against Northern Iowa on Oct. 5.

Clinton finished 40th in the even with a score of 221.70, while Taylor capped of the season in 46th as she tallied a score of 211.10.

The Maverick swimming team continues its season at the CSCAA National Invitational, which takes place March 14-16 in Cleveland, Ohio.
