Huskers Earn Six Honorable Mentions, Two All-Americans at NCAA Champs

After two weather delays at the second day of the NCAA Championships, Nebraska added two second-team All-Americans and six honorable mention All-Americans at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Thursday.

A pair of hurdlers garnered second-team All-America honors. Chanel Freeman became a second-team All-American in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished 13th with a PR time of 13.08 at her first NCAA Championships, good for the No. 3 non-wind-aided time on the NU top-10 list. Michaela Peskova collected second-team accolades in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 15th with a time of 57.99. It was also Peskova’s first time competing at the NCAA Championships.

The Huskers will conclude their stay at the NCAA Championships on Friday. Chase Wolinski, Brittni Wolczyk and Sydney Otto will all compete in the javelin finals at 2:30 p.m., which was moved from Thursday to Friday afternoon due to weather delays. Mayson Conner will jump in the high jump at 7 p.m., while Carlos and Khalil Davis will toss the discus at 7:05 p.m.
