Husker Update: Softball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball News for 2/13


The Nebraska softball team (3-2) will travel to Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 14-16 for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Hosted by Georgia Tech, the site will feature two ACC schools in Georgia Tech and Boston College and two Big Ten teams in Nebraska and Iowa. Every team will play two games against each school in the opposite conference.

The Huskers will begin the weekend on Friday when they play Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. CT. On Saturday, NU faces Boston College ( 9 a.m. CT) and Georgia Tech (11:30 a.m.). The Big Red finishes the weekend on Sunday against Boston College. First pitch for the game is set for 9 a.m. CT.

Women’s Basketball

The Nebraska women’s basketball team will work to get back on the winning track when the Huskers play host to Penn State on Thursday night in Lincoln. Tip-off between the Huskers (15-9, 5-8 Big Ten) and the Lady Lions (7-17, 1-12 Big Ten) is set for 7 p.m. (CT) at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Nebraska baseball team begins a new decade and a new era this weekend, as first-year Head Coach Will Bolt leads the Huskers into Waco, Texas for a three-game series against Baylor.

Friday’s season opener is set for 6:35 p.m. (CT) at Baylor Ballpark. Saturday’s game is scheduled for 2:05 p.m., one hour earlier than the originally scheduled time due to Baylor’s men’s basketball team hosting a game at 3 p.m. Sunday’s series finale will begin at 1:05 p.m.
