The Nebraska baseball team (24-18) returns to action this weekend with a three-game non-conference series against Arizona State at Hawks Field.
Several promotions are scheduled, including Alumni Weekend, as former Husker baseball letterwinners will be honored before Friday night’s game, scheduled for 6:32 p.m. (CT) on NET. Friday night also marks the 500th Husker baseball game at Hawks Field and the Joba Chamberlain first pitch and bobblehead giveaway. The first 1,000 fans through the home plate entrance will receive a Chamberlain bobblehead (limit one per fan).
Saturday’s game, set for 2:05 p.m., is “Bark at the Park,” as fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the game. The giveaway is 500 GBR dog collars. Sunday’s series finale is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
The Nebraska softball team (21-31) battled back and forth with Illinois (32-22) on Thursday in the first round of the 2019 Big Ten Tournament, but ultimately fell to by a score of 6-4. The Huskers trailed 6-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, but never gave up. Nebraska scored two runs and brought the winning run to the plate twice, before Illinois snatched the victory. With the loss, the Huskers’ 2019 season comes to a close.
