Baseball

The Nebraska baseball team (29-20) pounced early in an 8-2 win over Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament at TD Ameritrade Park on Wednesday night. The Huskers plated three runs in the first inning and five runs in the third inning.

The Huskers face No. 8 seed Iowa in the winners bracket game on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 9:03 p.m.  The game will be broadcast on Big Dog 98.9 FM and 1340 AM with the Husker Sports Network.

Track & Field

The Nebraska track and field team will travel to Sacramento, California, this week for the NCAA West Preliminary Round. Nebraska secured a total of 48 bids to the meet, with athletes ranking among the top 48 in the region in their respective events earning berths.

Action at Hornet Stadium will begin with field events at 2 p.m. and track action at 6:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday. Competition concludes on Saturday with field events starting at 4:45 p.m. and track competition at 8 p.m. All times listed are Central Time.

The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The National Championships will be held from June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
