Wisconsin used a record-breaking performance from beyond the 3-point line to pull away for an 82-68 win over the visiting Nebraska men’s basketball team Tuesday night at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers were 18-of-34 from the 3-point line, shooting 53 percent from beyond the arc. The 18 3-pointers were a Wisconsin record and were also the most 3-pointers Nebraska has ever allowed. Wisconsin, which entered the game averaging only six 3-pointers per game in Big Ten play, hit 10 threes in the second half alone, to break open what was a one-point game at the half.
Nebraska continues its stretch of four road contests in five games on Saturday, when the Huskers travel to New Jersey to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the second time this season. Saturday’s tipoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM, with the Husker Sports Network.
The Nebraska women’s basketball team closes its two-game Big Ten home stand by battling Purdue on Wednesday night in Lincoln. Tip-off between the Huskers (14-4, 4-3 Big Ten) and the Boilermakers (12-7, 3-4 Big Ten) is set for 7 p.m. (CT) at Pinnacle Bank Arena in the only scheduled meeting between the schools this season.
