High School Softball: Fremont Splits Doubleheader With Columbus

In high school softball last night at the Schilke Complex, Fremont split a doubleheader with Columbus.  The Discoverers won game one, 4-1, while Fremont won game two, 6-3.  In the nightcap, Jewel Ashbrook was 2-5 with a homerun and five rbi’s.  Mikayla Paulson hit a solo homerun and Carlie Neuhaus pitched the complete game victory striking out four.  Fremont is 18-7 while Columbus is 9-12.  The Discoverers will host Lincoln Southeast, Thursday.  Fremont hosts Grand Island in a doubleheader tonight at 5:00.
