GPAC Softball Postseason Tournament Preview

FREMONT, Neb. – For the first time since the 2015 season, Midland University will serve as a host to one of two sites in the Great Plains Athletics Conference (GPAC) Baseball Postseason Tournament. Games will be played at Christensen Field on May 4-5, 2018.

Christensen Field, home of Midland Softball, is located at 1750 Christensen Field Road in Fremont.

The 2018 GPAC Softball Championship game is scheduled for Monday, May 7 with the highest remaining seed serving as the host. After not qualifying for the GPAC Tournament a year ago, Midland won a share of the regular season title, their first since 2004.

Morningside will serve as the other host site, having finished in a tie with Midland for the regular season title. The Warriors won the tie-breaker to earn the No. 1-seed and have also secured the GPAC’s first berth to the 2018 NAIA Opening Round. The tournament champion will receive the conference’s second bid. If Midland were to win the GPAC Postseason Championship, then the postseason tournament runner-up will receive the second berth to the NAIA Opening Round.

All games played in the Midland Bracket at Christensen Field will be broadcast live, here.
