Girls State Basketball Starts Thursday: Here’s the schedule

LINCOLN – The Girls State Basketball tournament begins this Thursday, February 28th with games taking place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Devaney Sports Center and several Lincoln high schools throughout the following weekend.

In Class B, Elkhorn and Elkhorn South will head to state. On Thursday, Elkhorn South will play Sidney at 9AM at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Elkhorn plays Waverly that night at the Devaney Center, starting at 8:45PM. Both games will be broadcast on Boomer Blair 97.3.

In Class C1, both Wahoo and Wahoo Bishop Neumann will join North Bend Central in State tournament action. Bishop Neumann will play North Bend Central straight out of the gate. That game will be at the Devaney Center, tip off at 2PM. Big Dog 98.9 and 1340 will have the game broadcast. Right after, Wahoo High School will play Adams Central at the Devaney Center, with tip off at 3:45PM. This game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5.

For Class D1 action, we’ll have Archbishop Bergan Catholic taking on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 10:45AM from the hardwood at Lincoln North Star High School. Rich Ray will have the broadcast live on Mix 105.5 beginning with a pregame at 10:30AM.

Friday and Saturday games are contingent upon winners in round one, but we’ll follow each of our area teams through the tournament as it plays out:

On Friday, the potential Bergan/Class D1 game will be on Big Dog 98.9 and 1340, with a 9AM tip-off. The potential Wahoo/Wahoo Neumann/North Bend Central Class C1 game will broadcast on Mix 105.5 at 10:30AM.

On Saturday, potential C1 or D1 Championship or Consolation games will be on Big Dog 98.9 and 1340. Anticipated game times are 9AM, 11AM and 1PM.
