The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team earned a 13-6 victory over Anderson Ford (Lincoln North Star) in the winners’ bracket final of the Class A American Legion Seniors American Division Playoffs last night in Jurgensen Park at Omaha Creighton Prep.
Dawson Glause worked 3.2 innings and picked up the win on the mound. First State scored two in the top of the first and added six in the top of the second to jump out to an 8-0 lead, which would hold up. First State’s Austin Callahan went 4-for-5 with four singles, two rbi’s, two stolen bases and three runs scored:
Dillon Dix was 3-for-4 with three singles, four rbi’s, a stolen base and three runs scored. Brody Sintek was 2-for-5 with two rbi singles and Donnie Mueller was 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored. Head Coach Jeff Hayden:
First State is 30-7 and will play at 7:00 tonight against a team they’ve already beaten in the tournament, Woodhouse Ford (Elkhorn South). Tonight’s First State Bank game will be broadcast on Big Dog 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.
