Fremont High: Golf, Track, Soccer & Tennis Players Out to Win

Golf

The Fremont High boys golf team competed in the Columbus Invite at Elks Country Club, yesterday.  Fremont finished 11th out of 15 teams, with a 369.  Norfolk won the meet at 311.  Luke Kluver of Norfolk was the meet medalist with a 73.  For Fremont, Riley Harms shot an 84, Jack Kranz a 93, Cal Miller a 95, Max Brown a 97 and Nick Lamme a 106.

 

Track & Field

The Fremont High boys track and field team took first place in the 17-team Harold Scott Invite at Lincoln High, Thursday.  The Tigers scored 165 points.   Lincoln High was second with 96.  Jake Sellon won the pole vault with a new meet record of 15’4”.  Bergan Hofer won the boys shot put at 53’ 6”.  Keegan Menning, Tate Moeller and Jakub Doncheski were 2-3-4 in the discus.  Menning threw 151’ 0”.

Ross McMahon was third in the high jump at 6’0”.  Austin Everitt was fourth in the long jump at 20-1.25.  Sijin Hansen was fifth in the triple jump at 40-11.50.  Fremont’s 4×800 relay of Matthew Klein, Reed Johannsen, Edmund Englund and Chase Cate were third at 8:22.21.  Tristan Novak was fourth in the 110m HH at 15.34.  Lucas Arps and Caelin Reeh were 1-2 in the 400.  Arps ran a 50.05.  C.J. Martinez won the 3200 in 9:43.11.

Lucas Arps was second in the 200 at 22.61.  Jose Gonzalez and Wes Ferguson were 1-2 in the 800.  Gonzalez ran a 1:57.68.  Tristan Novak was fourth in the 300 IM Hurdles at 41.47.  Jose Gonzalez, Chase Cate and Ben Schulz were 1-2-3 in the 1600.  Gonzalez ran a 4:29.15.  The Tiger 4×400 relay of Wes Ferguson, Jose Gonzalez, Ross McMahon and Lucas Arps took first at 3:29.25.

 

Soccer

In high school soccer yesterday, the Fremont boys lost to Lincoln Southeast, 2-1.  Fremont is 3-9 on the season and hosts Lincoln High, Tuesday.  In girls action, Lincoln Southeast beat Fremont, 7-0.  The Lady Tigers are 5-8 on the year and also host Lincoln High, Tuesday.

 

Tennis

The Fremont High tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Lincoln Southwest, yesterday.  The #3 doubles team of Gabi Keaton and Lexi Glosser earned the lone Tiger win.
