Former Husker Elizabeth Kuhlkin was named Champion of the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open in Orlando, Fla.
The tournament began Monday and ran through Saturday evening, beginning with a series of qualifying rounds to determine the top 36 competitors. Those 36 players then moved on to play 8 games of qualifying to cut to the top 24 players. The top 24 players then moved on to play 8 games of head-to-head match play to discover the top 5 players who advanced to the stepladder finals.
Kuhlkin remained undefeated, taking the championship match against Stephanie Johnson 218-196 and securing the title of 2018 U.S. Women’s Open Champion. Kuhlkin ended the tournament with an average of 217.78
