Creighton will be on the road Saturday in the BIG EAST race to play Georgetown. The Bluejays are 2-1 in conference play after a Wednesday night victory over St. John’s. Former Gergetown standout Patrick Ewing is in his first season as coach of the Hoyas and they are 11-3 overall and 1-2 in the BIG EAST.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott. Senior guard Marcus Foster says the quick turnarounds are difficult to prepare for.

Tip off is 11am Saturday at Georgetown.

In women’s action:

Forced to spend the majority of Thursday in the hotel by the snow storm in New York, the Creighton women’s basketball team made the most of their opportunity.

  • To keep in shape the Bluejays used the fitness center machines, ran the hotel stairs and held snowball fights.
  • To maintain on-court strategy the Bluejays formed sides in heated UNO contests.
  • To improve basketball team IQ and prepare for the battle with St. John’s, the squad watched film of the Red Storm and used a game of Kahoot to enhance their knowledge of one another.

With the snow storm having passed, the Bluejays will head to Carnesecca Gym tomorrow morning for a brief shoot-around, then battle the Red Storm at 6:00 pm.
