LINCOLN – The Nebraska soccer team (6-3-1, 0-1-1 Big Ten) hits the road this weekend to visit the Great Lakes State for a pair of Big Ten matches.
Friday night’s match against Michigan State, set for 5 p.m. (CT) in East Lansing, Mich., will mark the 500th match in Nebraska soccer history. It is the same milestone for Head Coach John Walker, who is in his 24th season at the helm of the Husker program.
NU finishes its road trip against Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT) in Ann Arbor, Mich.
No. 14 Creighton (9-4, 2-0 BIG EAST) will play 10 of its final 16 BIG EAST matches on the road, a stretch that starts this week. On Friday, CU visits Seton Hall (7-8, 1-1 BIG EAST) for a 6 p.m. Central match at Walsh Gymnasium. On Saturday at 4 p.m. Central, the Bluejays meet up with St. John’s (8-9, 0-2 BIG EAST) at Carnesecca Arena in Queens, N.Y.
The Omaha women’s soccer team will look to start Summit League play on a high note when they hit the pitch against Fort Wayne on Thursday, Sept. 28. The Mavericks will kick off against the Mastodons at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. (CT).
