Buzzer-Beater Lifts North Bend Central Over Wayne

WAYNE – North Bend Central freshman Jaxon Wietfeld went coast-to-coast in the final six seconds, breaking a tie at the buzzer with a lay-in that gave the Tigers a 65-63 win over Wayne.

Wietfeld’s play immediately followed a pull-up jumper by Wayne’s Mason Lee that tied the game at 63. Neither team led by more than six points.

North Bend Central was able to stay in the lead for most of the game thanks to a pressure defense that forced 23 Blue Devil turnovers.

The win was North Bend’s second straight, while Wayne’s loss ended a three-game winning streak.
