Bergan Takes First in C2 Districts

The Archbishop Bergan girls and boys track and field teams competed in the C-2 District Meet at Oakland yesterday.  In the boys meet, Bergan took first place with 123 points.  North Bend Central was second with 77.  State qualifiers for the Knights include:  Dre Vance, who took first in the 1600m run in 4:52.42.  Vance also was second in the 3200 in 11:11.27.  Derek Smith won the 110m high hurdles in 15.25.  Trentin Ostrand was second at 16.14.  The 4x100m relay of Jake Ridder, Trentin Ostrand, Derek Smith and Nick Burger was second at 45.32.  Grant Frickenstein won the high jump at 6-1.  Ethan Villwok won the triple jump at 42-10.50.  Dylan Kucera won the shot put at 58-5.50 and he also won the discus at 157-07.

In the girls meet, Bergan tied for sixth with 37 points.  North Bend Central won the meet with 140.  State qualifiers for the Lady Knights include:  Haley Kempf, who took third in the long jump at 16-1.50.  Kempf won the triple jump at 32-8.  Allie DeGroff was second in the shot put at 35-11.25.
