In Senior Legion baseball yesterday:

Blair defeated Plattsmouth, 11-3

 

Omaha Storm Chasers

What began as a bullpen day for both teams turned into a 4-hour, 14-pitcher, 12-inning battle of attrition, as the Storm Chasers eventually defeated Oklahoma City 8-5 on Sunday afternoon at Bricktown Ballpark.

The Storm Chasers (24-32) will be off today, and will then open a 7-game homestand on Tuesday against El Paso. RHP Glenn Sparkman (3-0, 3.13) will toss for Omaha, while El Paso will send RHP Seth Simmons (0-0, 1.50) to the mound.

Lincoln Saltdogs

The Lincoln Saltdogs notched season highs in runs, hits and margin of victory in a 16-5 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries at the Birdcage.

The Saltdogs (10-7) took the rubber match to win their second straight road series and improve to a season-high three games over .500.  They tallied an incredible 33 runs in the series and are now averaging more than seven runs per game.

Lincoln looks to continue its offensive onslaught at Haymarket Park.  The Saltdogs start a three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight at 6:45 PM.
