The First State Bank American Legion Seniors Baseball team remains undefeated after winning the Omaha Central Ames Street Bash this weekend, going 5-0. First State beat Bennington in the championship, 9-2. First State is 8-0 on the season.
The Blair Senior Legion Baseball team went 6-0 in the Lewis and Clark Classic, this weekend. Blair downed Sioux Falls West, 9-4, in the Championship.
In Dodge County Baseball League action yesterday, Arlington beat Blair, 6-4. Wahoo downed Scribner, 17-1.
The Fremont Moo dropped the rubber game of the three game seniors at the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs, yesterday, 5-3, in Minot, North Dakota. The Moo have a day off today, before returning to Moller Field, to take on the Casper Horseheads, tomorrow night at 6:35.
Omaha Storm Chasers
Storm Chasers first baseman Samir Duenez mashed a game-tying three-run homer in the eighth inning after El Paso starter Kyle McGrath set down the first 21 batters he faced, however the Chihuahuas plated three tallies in the tenth inning of a 6-3 extra-inning win over Omaha on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.
Omaha and El Paso are set to finish off their series with a Monday matinee. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05pm
Cody Regis had Lincoln’s first multi-homer game of the year, and the Saltdogs scored nine unanswered runs in a 9-4, series-clinching win over the Texas AirHogs at Haymarket Park on Sunday evening.
The ‘Dogs now hit the road for seven games beginning with a four-game set in Sioux City. First pitch time on Monday is scheduled for 7:12 p.m.
