The First State Bank American Legion seniors baseball team swept a doubleheader from Columbus, at Novak Field, last night, by scores of 2-1 in nine innings, and 7-2. Mitchell Glause pitched all nine innings, to earn the win in the first game and Brody Sintek earned the win in game two. With the victories, First State is 22-6 and wraps up regular season play, hosting Lincoln Southeast, Sunday afternoon at 3pm.
The First State Bank Reserve Legion baseball team will host Lincoln North Star at Novak Field, at 6:30, tonight.
In Dodge County Baseball League action, last night, Dodge defeated Leigh/Schuyler, 7-3.
The Blair Little League will host the Northern Area District Tournament this weekend. In the Majors Division, tonight, Hillside takes on Memorial at 6pm and Blair takes on Keystone at 8pm, at Wederquist Field. In the Minors Division, Blair plays Memorial at 7pm at Eagle Field. Competition runs through the weekend.
The B 3 Junior Legion Area Tournament begins today in Valley. Top-seed Bennington plays Schuyler at 12:30. Blair plays Roncalli at 3:00. Wayne takes on Arlington at 5:30 and Valley plays West Point, at 8pm.
The C 2 Junior Legion Area Tournament begins today in Scribner. Pender plays Wisner/Pilger-Howells/Dodge at 1pm. At 4:00 Tekamah-Herman takes on Wakefield and at 7pm, Hooper-Scribner plays Morse Bluff/North Bend.
The C 3 Juniors Area Tournament is in Yutan. Area team Fort Calhoun takes on Louisville-Weeping Water at 1pm.
The Fremont Moo could not complete a three game sweep of the Casper Horseheads, as Fremont dropped a 10-5 decision to the visitors, last night at Moller Field. With the loss, Fremont is now 16-23 on the season. Fremont stays at home, and opens a three game series, with the Hastings Sodbusters, beginning tonight at 6:35.

After San Antonio scored 2 runs in the first inning Omaha tied it up in the second and keep it close until the seventh when the Missions blow the game open by scoring five runs on four hits at Nelson Wolff Stadium.
The two teams are set to play their second of a four-game series tomorrow night at 7:05pm
Curt Smith had two more hits and a walk-off single, and the ‘Dogs scored two runs in the 9th to walk-off the Goldeyes, 3-2, and complete a sweep at Haymarket Park on Thursday night.
Smith singled in Randolph Oduber just two pitches after Cody Regis hit a game-tying RBI single that scored Forrestt Allday. The walk-off was Lincoln’s fourth of the year and finished off the ‘Dogs’ second sweep of the season.
The ‘Dogs have won three straight and remain 3.5 games back of Cleburne atop the South Division. Lincoln will now hit the road for eight games over 12 days, beginning with a two-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Friday night. First-pitch time is scheduled for 7:02 p.m.
