The First State Bank American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams both picked up wins on the road last night, at Densmore Field, in Lincoln. The seniors beat Lincoln Northeast, 9-6. Mitchell Glause went 3-for-4 with an rbi. Jackson Gilfry earned the win, pitching 4.1 innings, giving up two hits, three runs and struck out four. The Seniors play in the Omaha Central Tournament, this weekend.
The First State Juniors beat Lincoln Northeast, 9-4. The juniors play a doubleheader at South Sioux City, tonight at 5:30 and 7:30pm.
The First State Reserves are in action tonight at the Schilke Complex, playing Gretna at 6:30pm.
In Dodge County Baseball League action last night, Wahoo beat Arlington, 9-1. Tonight, Blair plays at North Bend, Leigh/Schuyler is at Dodge and West Point plays at Yutan. All games start at 7:30.
The Fremont Moo dropped the opening game of their two-game series with the Hub City Hot Shots last night, 3-1, at Moller Field. The two teams play at Moller Field, again tonight, at 6:35.
Omaha Storm Chasers
Storm Chasers starting pitcher Scott Blewett tossed six solid innings and third baseman Erick Mejia mashed a two-run home run as Omaha topped the Albuquerque Isotopes 5-1 on Wednesday night at Werner Park.
The two teams are set to complete their three-game series on Thursday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm
Randolph Oduber went 4-for-6 with three RBI, and the ‘Dogs had season highs in both runs and hits in a 14-7 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the series finale on Wednesday night.
The ‘Dogs finish the six-game roadtrip 3-3 and pull a game above .500 once again. Lincoln returns home for a four-game series against the Texas AirHogs beginning Thursday night at Haymarket Park. First pitch time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
