Baseball Bytes: CWS Delays, Local Legion Baseball Coming Up Today

Tuesday’s games at the 2019 College World Series in Omaha were postponed due to inclement weather. Play will resume between Louisville and Auburn at 11am, today: Wednesday, June 18. The Cardinals lead the elimination game 4-1 at the start of the fifth inning.

Vanderbilt-Mississippi State will start 65 minutes after the conclusion of Louisville-Auburn. The nightcap between Florida State and Texas Tech, another elimination game, is set for 6 p.m

Louisville has the lead thanks to a three-run top of the fourth prior to Tuesday’s rain delay. A bases-loaded walk and a two-error play on a mishandled grounder accounted for the runs. Tyler Fitzgerald also homered in the first inning.
