Creighton junior Jake Holton claimed his fifth BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season, guiding Creighton to a 4-0 week and a BIG EAST regular-season title with a .400 average (6-for-16) and seven RBI. Holton and the Bluejays entered last week knowing they needed to sweep Villanova to claim the BIG EAST crown. Holton delivered in each game with the Wildcats to lift the Bluejays to their third BIG EAST title in six seasons.
Holton and the Bluejays will face the fourth-seeded Seton Hall Pirates in the opening game of the BIG EAST Tournament in Mason, Ohio on Thursday, May 23 at 1:30 pm (CT).
The Omaha baseball program enters The Summit League Championship as the No. 1 overall seed in Tulsa, Okla.
Omaha opens the tournament with a noon matchup this Wednesday, May 22, against the No. 4 seeded Western Illinois Leathernecks.

Omaha Storm Chasers
Storm Chasers shortstop Erick Mejia homered and drove in three runs, however Oklahoma City first baseman Connor Joe smashed two longballs as the Dodgers tallied 17 hits in a 10-5 win over Omaha on Monday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The Storm Chasers are set to return to Werner Park on Tuesday evening to begin a ten-game homestand, starting with a four-game set versus the Iowa Cubs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
The series opener between the Lincoln Saltdogs and Kansas City T-Bones has been postponed by inclement weather and the clubs will make up the game as part of a seven-inning doubleheader on Tuesday, May 21.
First pitch of Game 1 will be 5:30 p.m., and Game 2 will begin shortly after the conclusion of the first.
