The First State Bank American Legion Seniors Baseball team competed in the Elkhorn Wooden Bat Tournament over the weekend, and finished competition, 3-1. The Seniors are now 20-9 on the season.
The Blair Junior Legion Baseball team plays in the B-2 District Tournament in Springfield today versus Waverly today.
In the B3 Area Tournament in Bennington, the host, Bennington is the lone unbeaten and plays at 8:00 tonight versus Omaha Roncalli at 8pm. Mount Michael will play Arlington in an elimination game at 5:30.
In the B5 Area Tournament in Wahoo, in an elimination game, Wayne defeated Wahoo, 7-5.
In the C2 Area Tournament in Pender, Logan View eliminated North Bend, 11-4. Logan View will play tomorrow at 5:00, versus the winner of tonight’s Tekamah-Herman/Pender matchup. Tonight’s game is at 7:30.
Dodge County Baseball League
In Dodge County Baseball League Action, yesterday, Wahoo beat Leigh/Schuyler, 7-4; Arlington shutout Pender, 9-0 and Scribner defeated North Bend, 9-3.
Tonight, Arlington will host West Point at 7:30pm.
Omaha Storm Chasers
Billy Burns‘ home run wasn’t enough to prevent another tight loss for Omaha in Memphis, as they fell 4-3 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
The Storm Chasers (40-48) will be off for the next 3 days during the Triple-A All-Star break. They will resume the season by opening a 4-game homestand at Werner Park against Memphis on Thursday at 7:05.
Kyle Kinman tossed six strong innings and the bottom part of the order produced seven hits to carry the Lincoln Saltdogs to a 6-3 rubber match win over the St. Paul Saints on Sunday night.
The Saltdogs (27-21) won their first road series since June 11-14 at Texas – breaking a streak of three-straight road series losses.
The Saltdogs take on the Kansas City T-Bones at Haymarket Park next. First pitch against the South Division foes is at 6:45 PM, tonight.
