Omaha Storm Chasers

Nashville starting pitcher Raul Alcantara fired six solid innings and right fielder Jake Smolinskihomered while driving in three runs, while Storm Chasers first baseman Frank Schwindel clubbed his team-leading fifteenth longball in the Sounds’ 7-1 victory over Omaha on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.

Omaha and Nashville continue their five-game homestand with a doubleheader on Monday evening, with game one slated to start at 5:05 p.m. CT. Both games are slated to last seven innings.

Lincoln Saltdogs

Austin Robichaux tossed a complete game shutout for the Lincoln Saltdogs (24-18) and the Gary SouthShore RailCats (22-19) blasted four home runs as the two clubs split a doubleheader at Haymarket Park.  The teams played two seven-inning games because Saturday night’s contest was postponed due to rain.

The Saltdogs have Monday off before starting a six-game road trip in Wichita.  First pitch on Tuesday is at 7:05 PM.
