All-GPAC Softball Teams Released, Hinrichs and Heard Earn Top Honors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2018 GPAC Softball All-Conference team, as voted on by the league coaches.  This year’s GPAC All-Conference Team consists of a first-team, second-team, and an honorable mention list.

Hhana Haro of Concordia University was selected as the Player of the Year while Jaylee Hinrichs of Midland University was named the Pitcher of the Year. Mike Heard of Midland took home the Coach of the Year award.

Hinrichs, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, is joined on the First Team by three teammates. Andrea Cespedes, a freshman from Newhall, California, made the team as an outfielder while Katlin Anders, a sophomore from Corona, California, was named a first-team catcher and Bobbi Singleton, a sophomore from Lincoln, Neb., was named the first-team designated player.

Sierra Athow, a sophomore infielder from Gretna, Neb., was named to the second team while Nicole O’Haver (INF, Sr., Battle Ground, Washington) and Madison Plummer (P, Jr., Newberg, Oregon) were both honorable mentions.

The Warriors (34-15, 16-4 GPAC) earned a share of the GPAC Regular Season Championship and were runners-up in the GPAC Postseason Tournament. They will be competing in the NAIA Softball Opening Round, May 14-16, in Dodge City, Kansas.
