FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University and head women’s soccer coach Greg Jarosik have officially released the 2019 Women’s Soccer schedule. The Lady Warriors, who finished last season ranked No. 9 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will play another challenging schedule with hopes of reaching the NAIA National Tournament once again.
Midland will begin their season on Sunday, August 25 with a match against Eastern Oregon. The two teams met last year in Arizona but due to weather issues the game was never official. Other non-conference opponents on the slate for the Warriors include trips to face Vanguard, Arizona Christian, Missouri Valley, and a home date with Ottawa. Eastern Oregon, Vanguard, and Ottawa each made the NAIA National Tournament in 2018.
“Once again we have challenged ourselves with a difficult nonconference schedule” commented Coach Jarosik. “We look forward to hosting a pair of national tournament teams at Heedum Field and are excited for our trip to play perennial Top 10 Vanguard. Our conference, which is always challenging, is full of quality teams as well this year.”
Midland will begin play in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) on September 21 when they host Briar Cliff at Heedum Field in Fremont, Nebraska.
