FREMONT – Local running enthusiasts and race-timing company, Run Nebraska, will host the 2nd Annual White Light Mile, a one-mile race around downtown Fremont.
The race will appeal to pros and hobby runners alike, with an “elite mile” full of some of the area’s fastest runners, as well as heats for casual runners/walkers, a team element, and even a kid’s fun run.
Unlike many other competitive runs, the White Light Mile takes place in the evening and takes runners on a beautifully lit course through the historic Downtown Fremont district. The races start at 6:30 PM on October 5th.
“We’re hoping to gather as many spectators as possible to cheer the runners on,” said Kurtis Slater of Run Nebraska. “The streets will be closed from 6th to Main, Main to 3rd, 3rd to Park, and Park to 6th for the hours that this race will be taking place.”
